Can I write a patent?
The right to exclude granted to the patent owner is limited to whatever is defined in the patent claims. First, you must define a working invention. Second, the invention defined in the patent claim must be novel and non-obvious, i.e. includes something in the claim that is different than what is found in the prior art, the closest prior art found in the literature search. Then you can draft a description to support your claims. Finally read more issued patents and refine!
